Home

– author, adventurer, journalist, labourer & elephant man –

Whether rowing a tiny dinghy on Lake Kariba, cycling alone from Nairobi to Cape Town or spending many months in the remotest areas of the Zambezi Valley, I’ve always liked to live life to the full. Outside of my police career, I’ve been a salesman, legal clerk, school bursar, cricket coach, charter skipper, tutor of creative writing and gardener.

I am also the author of sixteen books, including the phenomenally successful Ivory Madness and my passion in life is elephants.

Welcome to my website and blog. Whether you are interested in wildlife, conservation, writing or adventure, I am sure you will find something to interest you among the links.
