‘Crocs Around My Kayak’

cover for David Lemon's book 'Crocs Around My Kayak'

NON FICTION

Overweight, unfit and knowing nothing about handling a kayak, at sixty-five, I embarked on an ambitious attempt to kayak around Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe, in fourteen foot of moulded plastic that I had never seen before. I was either extremely foolhardy, or at best, had a misplaced confidence in my own capabilities, but somehow, I survived.

Battered by unseasonal storms and threatened by dangerous wild life while ashore, I wandered those fearsome waters for ten weeks and lived to tell an incredible story.

This book tells the story of one of the silliest adventures that very nearly cost me my life but added to my mental storeroom of wonderful memories.
