With farming destroyed throughout their country, food unobtainable and justice disregarded, Zimbabweans face hunger, homelessness, murder, beatings and a bewildering future.
As an unaccredited, part-time journalist, I spent ten years travelling around the country in search of ‘human interest’ stories for a national newspaper. In this book I wrote not only about the horrors of day to day life, but also of the dignity, kindness and courage I met along the way.
‘Soldier No More’ is a challenging, haunting and inspiring book about ordinary people and how they survive in a cruelly beautiful land.
